Cross-country skiing
Nordic combined athletes (cross-country skiing and ski jumping) have to train a lot. Michael Gruber is one of them. In 2006 he won an Olympic gold medal in Turin. Nowadays he is often seen doing his laps on the cross-country skiing trails in Goldegg. On our 45 km long cross-country skiing network, everyone can find the perfect terrain on which to train, have fun or simply to ski and ski. When it is a freezing cold winters day and we can see our breath, then the cross-country skiing trails are perfect. At the same time both fast and firm.
Skiing
Skiing, just how we remember it and just how we learnt it. The T-bar’s are cold and slightly frozen. The path of the draglift glistens and gravity makes our life more difficult. With a smile and some funny jokes on the tip of their tongues, George and Engelbert pass us the T-bar and wish us a nice day. Skiing in Goldegg is real and original. We don’t need any stress, queues or huge crowds. In Goldegg we want to be able to ski and that we can do on the Buchberg.
Golf
The sport of golf came to Goldegg at a time when not many locals played golf. However the quality and creativity of the 18-hole course won a lot of people over. Today many locals play golf and enjoy many cool fairways, a breathtaking mountain view and the relaxed atmosphere of the Golf Bistro “19“. Are you interested in playing golf in a magnificent setting? Hiking
The day starts at the crack of dawn while the morning mist is still lingering over the Böndlsee lake. The village of Goldegg is still in a deep sleep. On the mountain summits, the summer sun is winning her battle against the clouds and seizes, metre by metre, more daylight. It is getting warmer. Insects begin their day and accompany us for a short while on our journey. We climb higher and feel the first rays of sunshine, so now we can take off our jackets. This will be a wonderful day hiking around Goldegg.
Family holiday
A romantic place, unspoilt nature, mountains and then holidaying with children who are only interested in fun and action – can the two go together? Of course they can. Goldegg is the real world not a virtual world. What counts is real holiday adventure - a rocky boat trip on the Böndlesee lake. A whole days skiing on the Buchberg. A plate of chips from the lido kiosk by the bathing lake, eaten with soggy wet fingers. A pan of hot steaming tasty Kasnocken (Austrian macaroni cheese) at the Kathi Alm followed by a large coffee.
