The snow crunches underneath your shoes. It is bitterly cold and you can see your own breath. A romantic walk over to the Goldegg Advent market is one of those things that get you into the mood for Christmas. You can see the stars in the clear night sky. The white mountains reflect the moonlight and is a cold contrast against the warm lights of the market, the torches and the fire baskets. ’’Advent, you are the most wonderful time of the year.’’
The Goldegg Advent is about nativity displays, readings, storytellers, songs and concerts. If you prefer a quieter pace and love diving into the customs of the region, then Advent in Goldegg is the perfect thing for you.

21.-22. December (Sat-Sun)
The nights are harsh and cold and you are out and about struggling on your way. Just as the night, the cold and all that is menacing. At the same time, the Perchten (mythological creatures) of Goldegg also look menacing. The Goldegg Perchten parade is an old custom that goes all the way back to the 11th century. The Perchten association has been active in Goldegg since 2002 and brings the old tradition back to life. During the day the Perchten go from farm to farm and wish: ’’peace, good luck and good health.’’ In the evening the Perchten parade takes place in the village – on New Years comes the highlight: the Perchten and the locals welcome in the New Year together.
